'Medium' to 'Broad'
|
|
A beautiful and charming fountain pen from the 1930's. The No.
55 was the most prestigious CS pen in the 1930's. The
gold clip has the raised diamond mount on which is the
CS logo. The cap is adorned with the three gold bands
( two narrow bands surrounding a medium band). The
imprint on barrel reads: "The Conway Stewart, No. 55"
with "Made in
England" around the barrel. Ink filling is by the
gold lever on the barrel. On the lever paddle is a
further engraving of "CS". The original nib reads: "DURO,
Conway, Stewart, 14ct GOLD". The DURO nib was the
exclusive nib fitted only to the top of the range pens.
Solid gold 14 carat 'medium' to 'broad' nib. Trim is rolled gold.
The pen glides over the paper. Condition is
excellent. Length: 5 1/8" - 6 1/2"
"The smoothness of a DURO
Conway Stewart pen is proverbial” |
