PELIKAN 400 Fountain Pen Circa 1952, Colour: Green striated.  Nib: 'Broad'. A top quality pen from a high ranking German fountain pen company.  This rare Pelikan 400 was produced in 1952 and the model was an immediate success for Pelikan.  The cap end has the Pelikan logo and the clip design is of a Pelikan beak.  Ink filling is by the piston which moves by twisting the barrel end. Smooth and glossy body. The engraving on the barrel: "PELIKAN 400, Gunther Wagner, Germany" and on the barrel end is the engraving "B" for 'broad' nib.  Solid gold 14 carat 'broad' nib. Writes like a charm.
