One of the first 388's made during 1939 by Conway
Stewart who made very stunningly colourful pens during this period.
The gold clip has the "CS" logo. The cap is decorated with three
bands - two narrow bands on either side of a broad band. Trim is
rolled gold. The imprint on barrel reads: "Conway Stewart, No. 388".
Around the barrel is:"Made in England". Ink filling is by the gold
lever on the barrel - the lever is also engraved with the "CS" logo.
The original nib reads:"Conway Stewart, 14ct GOLD". Solid gold 14
carat 'medium' to 'broad' nib. Condition is excellent. Incredibly
smooth writer. Length: 5" - 6 1/8"
Conway Stewart - a master craftsman.
